Knowledge as a Service (KAAS) is the category that converts the organic brain knowledge of a trained, distributed workforce into a proprietary intelligence layer the owning enterprise then distributes as infrastructure. The unit of input is a fifteen to forty-five minute structured AI-guided interview with the human who already holds the knowledge. The unit of output is a continuously refreshed layer that runs simultaneously into three endpoints: an internal dashboard, a brand-partner API, and an AI-agent feed.
Every other category in the adjacent landscape starts with data already in hand and ends with insight. KAAS starts with humans and ends with infrastructure. Surveys are too shallow. Focus groups are too small. Human interviews are too expensive. Synthetic respondents are fiction at scale. The middle did not exist until the AI moderator arrived at three cents per enriched conversation. That price plus protocol fidelity is what makes the layer above it possible.
KAAS is also a distribution layer.
